Daily, monthly and annual reporting straight from SCADA

In many control rooms, the month-end report still starts with someone exporting a spreadsheet. The SCADA software we deploy builds those reports itself, per station and per period, compared against previous periods, and publishes them on a web server.

Type
Capability example: a real feature of the SCADA software we deploy
Typical setting
Water utility, energy network or industrial estate already running SCADA
Core software
SCADA reporting module and web server
Report types
Time- and event-based; tabular and graphical; statistical; period comparison
Outputs
Browser access, scheduled reports, billing integration, MQTT
Typical programme
4–8 weeks on an existing SCADA system

The problem it solves

SCADA systems collect thousands of values a minute, but most organisations still produce monthly reports by hand: export, paste, format, check, email. It takes days, mistakes creep in, and it all happens again next month.

Regulatory and ESG reporting raises the stakes. Water quality compliance, energy consumption and carbon figures each need a defensible number from a traceable source, not a spreadsheet that’s been edited six times.

How it works

  1. Define what’s reported

We agree the reports that matter (production, consumption, quality, alarms, runtimes) and the station, zone or tenant each one is broken down by.

  2. Build the templates

Report templates pull directly from the SCADA database: tabular and graphical, with filters, statistics and comparisons across periods, such as this month against the same month last year.

  3. Schedule and publish

Reports are generated automatically on time- or event-based triggers (daily, monthly, annually or when an alarm occurs) and published through the SCADA web server, so managers read them in a browser.

  4. Feed other systems

Meter data can flow into billing systems compatible with the SCADA database, and selected values can be published over MQTT to analytics or ESG platforms.

Common Questions

Questions about
this kind of project.

Does this work with the SCADA system we already have?

Many SCADA platforms include reporting tools we can configure. Where yours doesn’t, a reporting layer can sit alongside it and read from the same data. We’ll tell you honestly which makes more sense.

Can reports go straight into our ESG or billing system?

Billing systems compatible with the SCADA database can take meter data directly, and selected values can be published over MQTT. Formats are confirmed against your systems during scoping.

Who can see the reports?

Web-server access is controlled by user accounts, so finance can see consumption reports without any access to plant control.
